Been a few days since I last posted. Well, I've been busy. Last Thursday and Friday, I was in Batangas on a medical-surgical mission. We were booked at Mt. Malarayat. The place is nice. The food ain't that great. So here's a tip folks, skip the hotel's restaurant. Go out and dine out. One thing I can say though, people there go to bed way too early. 2000H and you can hardly find a place you can go to. Drove back home Friday night and boy was I bushed. Saturday, I went to work. No rest for the wicked they say hehehe. Same goes for Sunday. Monday, I went on duty. And now, Tuesday, rest day. I'm thinkin' of catching a movie later. We'll see....

"Grab your gear..."
As the character Leeroy Jethro Gibbs would always say in the TV show NCIS, "grab your gear" well, I've packed my gear. Heading out south tomorrow to the land of butterfly knives for a 2 day surgical mission. I do this every chance I can; my way of giving back to the community, and helping the less fortunate. My call time tomorrow would be 0500H and I am due to pick up my friend at 0600H. We are hoping to reach the site before 0900H. Whether that would materialize or not, is a totally different story. But that is as early as we can make it. My friend cannot leave his post before 0600H. Grab your gear guys, we're going to the land of butterfly knives...

Hiatus
After a few days of hiatus from this electronic journal that I have been keeping. I'm back. Sadly, my laptop's not. It's still in the shop for repairs. I am hoping that they will be able to fix the problem this time. But nonetheless, I am preparing my self, (and my pocket) for the inevitable. I am however, having second thoughts on whether I should get a new laptop, or the iMac. The argument is that I already have an iPad which, can pretty much do all the shit I need to do on my laptop when I am on the go. Choices... choices....

Bad intel
Today, if it were a real world op. was day full of failed ops. First off, me and my buddy took a trip down south supposedly to set up a cache of supplies for future purposes. But that didn't materialize and we ended up making the 30 click travel back home. 60 clicks of wasted fuel if you ask me. I got back home and took a short nap. Was supposed to have a meet and greet with some old college friends. A homecoming of sorts. But it didn't turn out quite as expected. Nobody was replying so the event was called off and we'd reschedule. So its back to the sack for me now. G'night Manila

Old dogs...
Today, started out quite slow. I was supposed to be up by 0500H but instead I got up around 1200H. Yeah, talk about oversleeping. Naturally, i missed a shit-load of stuff that I needed to do. Then a few minutes later, my buddy called up for a trip down to the movies. So I figured, since I got nothing better to do, (and I mean this literally), I said, what the heck. Lets go. So we ended up watching Gulliver's travels. Lame ass movie. Pardon the pun. I took the words off the script. Big lame ass movie. Think of it as a cross between a comedy and a musical; rock musical for that matter. Now, those of you who know me, know that I'm not totally against rock music. But to turn it into a musical??? The flick wouldn't even pass or should I say shouldn't pass for a children's flick. Please, spare the children from seeing Jack Black's butt crack. And there were some pretty "lame ass" foul language not suitable for children. Not to mention the scene where the brat dressed up Jack Black in a woman's dress. That's not right. To show corss-dressing is funny? No wonder there are more and more fags in today's world. Our society tolerates it. Now, I take this to heart. The bible said God made man and woman. There was no mention of gays in the book of genesis. So I don't know who the hell made fags. God did not make them that's for sure. All in all, I'd rate that movie 4/10. I should've watched Tron Legacy instead. After the movie, we grabbed a quick bite before I returned home. I stopped over for my daily dose of caffeine on the way home. When I got home, I was soon on instant messaging with my better half. I swear, she is the one person standing between me and the total annihilation of the board of examiners. There's and old adage: "you can't teach an old dog new tricks." I think they should extend that adage. "You can't teach an old dog new tricks.. but you sure as hell can put 'em down." The old timers on the board need to be replaced. They have this old fashioned mentality. Why else would you ask out of this world questions on exams? Questions that pertain to rare and hardly seen events/procedures. Why not make questions of topics that fucking matter? Topics that are encountered everyday if not most days on the job? There is a fucking reason why rare events are seldom encountered. Wait, there's an explanation... IT'S FUCKING RARE!!! Geez.... I hope the offices of the board catches fire on the night before the exams. And hopefully, if luck will have it, the examiners would be trapped in it when it happens! Tsk... tsk... tsk... shame that I made a promise not to lay hands on them... but hey, accidents can still happen right? ;) As we say it in my world, watch your six.

If war is in your blood, killing is as easy as breathing...
Today was a quiet day for me. I woke up early in order to avoid the traffic jams that is so synonymous with metro manila these days and made my way south towards megaclinic. Did 1 case there and just as I was about to leave, I decided to stop by subway for some take out. Then I decided to drop by greenhills to see a movie. The Tourist. Haven't seen it yet so I thought, why the hell not? Good flick. Won't give it an 8 though. Not enough action scenes. This was more of a suspense drama. But the plot was good. Good twist too at the end. After the movie, I made my way through the metropolis and got back home. I spent a lazy afternoon watching re-runs of NCIS on cable tv. Seriously, we need to get the rest of the satellite channels they get in the US. All in all, it was a good day. I didn't ruined it by trying to study. Try being the operative word. I guess that's all it takes to take my mind of murder and mayhem. The very thought of me studying and preparing for another kangaroo examination, leads me to thoughts of murder and mayhem. My blood boils up and I can only think of killing those 3 examiners. But alas, death is the cheaters' way out. Too easy. I won't let them punch out like that without suffering. The true art in torture, is not to kill your subjects but for them to wish that they were dead instead. That, is what I want to bring forth to my enemies! This is war! And I thrived in war. I excel in warfare. I am a soldier. I fight where I am told and I win where I fight. May God have mercy on my enemies because I WON'T!

How dark is the mind of the Bad Karma..
For those of you who have the benefit of following me on my twitter and facebook accounts, you know that I have been around town quite a bit today. Well, my morning started officially with work. I had a 0830H call time at the megaclinic. Just 1 case for the morning and the next was slated at 1400H. So naturally, i had about 5 hours to kill. I tried the reading bit as my better half have kept asking me to do so. I came across the topic of autonomic pharmacology. And the thing, the only thing, that I remembered of all the shit I was reading, was that (and I was saying to myself) this is precisely how agents like sarin, tabun and the likes work! Hmmm.... if these stuffs are not sold off the shelf, maybe they can be produced in some lab here... and maybe I can put them to good use... on the 3 little pigs.... hmmmm....... interesting thought. Now other than that, I don't exactly remember anything else from all the readings I did. It's as if I read blank pages of paper. Then I went to have some lunch and after lunch, I went out and got my phone a bumber. For my piece of mind actually. Then went back for the 1400H and 1430H cases. After that, I went out and killed some more time. Had dinner, and then proceeded to the Mall of Asia. I am supposed to fetch my sister at around 2230H after she went to see some concert. And as I was driving through the streets, I came across some unusually heavy traffic and it struck me, tomorrow is the 9th of January. Some people here, celebrate it and call it the feast of the black nazarene. Now I don't know about the rest of you, but I remember reading in the bible that Jesus, appeared in 3 persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. I don't remember it mentioning anything about changing His race to black. So for me, I call the 9th of January celebration, the feast of the schizophrenics. Why? that is somewhat what a schizophrenic would look like and also, a lot of the people that surrounds that church are, schizophrenics. Of course, the real pain in the ass is the traffic congestion it'll cause. It already started today. Instead of the usual 30 minute drive from Mall of Asia, via R-10 to my place, I had to circle around town all the way through nagtahan, to Sta. Mesa, to Araneta, and back to my place for a lousy 90minutes. Talk about your waste of time. All that just to avoid being stuck in traffice brought about by the devotees of the feast of the schizophrenics. Damn!
